Summer 2009
Junior year has come to a halt, finally! Home for a week, and then off to North Carolina for an internship! I have a few small projects that I hope I have some time to do, including an amplifying circuit for Kevin Radley’s hard drive speakers. I need to get a few things, like perfboard and a few components, soldering iron and a multimeter. Yeah, I am an engineer that doesn’t own any engineering tools yet. Doing SOS to get back to school early and have first picks in the townhouse and hang out with friends without the academic pressure!

Summer Plans?
I am hoping to land an internship with a company this summer, and I have had two interviews so far. I have interviewed with a power company, but I really do not have an interest in the power engineering industry. I also got an interview with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, even got to a on site job interview in North Carolina. I am still waiting on their final decision. I really hope I land this!
Trying to One Up an Engineer?
I feel slightly insulted by this company, Compuvest, for sending me an ASUS R1F tablet with half the specifications that I ordered. What are they trying to pull off? Any other person would have been happy to receive the laptop they ordered, but I checked all the specs inside the computer and found that they sent me a cheaper model. Trying to one up an electrical engineer….that is some funny shit there! I sent it back to them, and as an unsatisfied customer, I sent it to them in a small box that does not offer protection to the computer, and I expect them to honor their word and send me the computer that I ordered. The computer I received was an Intel 1.66GHz Core 2 Duo processor with 1GB of RAM and 80 GB of Hard drive space. Far from what I ordered, which was 2GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and 120 GB of HHD space. HUGE DIFFERENCE! I would not recommend working with this company after all the headaches I have gotten from this company.
Winter Sports

I have recently taken up Hockey. I pretty much have the full hockey gear, and I am slowly learning how to play the game. I am definitely not any good right now, but I am not too bad. I went snowboarding with Kevin Hamilton and a few members of his frat and a few freshmen. Less than 12 hours later, I played a hockey game against the Army ROTC in Cheel with full gear. I am part of the Women’s Hockey Club here at Clarkson now! I have also gone skiing with my friends from Clarkson. I am getting into winter sports now that I have become part of this state. I have also been part of Clarkson TV station, WCKN, during the women’s hockey game against Princeton, manning camera two in the press box. I have also tried snowboarding, and I gotta say, I can barely keep off the floor! I have definitely gotten used to the snow and finding it more enjoyable than ever before.
Snowball

We recently got a kitten. A mutt with persian origin. Named “Nieve”, which translates to snow, but Snowball is starting to stick to him more. This cat has won the heart of my mother, which is quite the accomplishment, since my mother is anything but an animal person.
