Flaming Tree in the Middle of Winter

This photograph, taken with my Sprint Sanyo Katana 1.3MP camera phone, was displayed for a few weeks on the Clarkson Community front page. This was taken my junior year during the spring semester on my way over to my Dynamical Systems class in CAMP. The vibrant color of the leaves and the dreary, overcast sky raise hope of academic triumph in an otherwise harsh environment.

Looking at the Past

While working at the Clarkson Library scanning old yearbooks for the North Country Digital History Project that attempts to make all knowledge of the North Country easily accessible online, I ran across an interesting piece of artwork that made so much sense to me, I felt compelled to post it and share with the rest of the Clarkson Community. This was taken from a yearbook in the 1990s, and were two separate 8×11 inch papers which I tried to fuse together with aid from Photoshop. Clarkson University is known for friendliness amongst students, unlike larger, more competitive schools. This is depicted pretty well in this restored 1990s yearbook section cover.
